The plugin is developed by WP Manage Ninja, which is best known for many popular plugins such as Fluent Forms, WPPayForm and Ninja Tables. We first heard about FluentSMTP when we bought a licence of their latest plugin. All customers of FluentCRM, the email marketing automation plugin for WordPress, should receive a free FluentSMTP licence worth up to $149 per year. However, WP Manage Ninja ditched this plan at short notice and have decided to offer the SMTP plugin for free as a way of giving back to the WordPress community. There will be no pro version!

Instead of using the standard PHP mail function in WordPress to send emails, you should use an external SMTP server (Simple Mail Transfer Protocol) for this task. This effectively increases the chances that your emails will end up in the recipient’s inbox and not in the SPAM folder.
