FlyingPress Releases New Cloudflare Integration for Full Page Caching
Following the launch of version 5.0, which featured cloud-based optimizations, Gijo from FlyingPress has just announced the release of version 5.1 of their WordPress speed optimization plugin. Say hello to the new Cloudflare integration!
New Cloudflare Integration
By default, Cloudflare only caches static files, such as images, CSS and JavaScript. FlyingPress tells Cloudflare to cache your HTML pages at their global edge locations as part of this integration. This significantly reduces Time to First Byte (TTFB) for visitors worldwide and reduces the load on your server.
Take a look at the key features:
- Faster TTFB worldwide: Pages are served from the nearest Cloudflare data center.
- Lower server load: Fewer requests hit your origin.
- Smart cache purging: Purge HTML pages without clearing static files such as images, fonts, CSS and JavaScript, ensuring a high cache-hit ratio for your site.
- There is no need for Cloudflare’s Automatic Platform Optimization (APO).
- The integration works with the free Cloudflare plan. There is no extra cost for edge caching.
Once you have enabled the Cloudflare integration, you can test your site for free using the recently launched Flying TTFB tool (see The Pier #111). Please note that the first run may be uncached (MISS). However, subsequent runs should return a HIT with a much faster TTFB.
Start serving pages to visitors around the globe faster than ever – with FlyingPress.
