HeySummit: Custom Imports & PayPal For Online Summit Attendees

HeySummit just introduced two new features for their online summit platform. Welcome custom imports for Business plans and PayPal for attendees.

Custom Imports

Previously, it wasnโ€™t possible to accept payments other than Stripe and PayPal and deal with event registrations outside of HeySummit. Now you can – if youโ€™re on the Business plan that is. Simply import your list of online summit attendees as a CSV at Activity & Reporting > Attendees > Import Attendees.

Check out some use case scenarios:

  • Use other payment methods if Stripe and PayPal are not supported in your country
  • Add all of your speakers to HeySummit and give them VIP access
  • Use HeySummit only for attendee management and not for registration, e.g. if you already have a landing page and payment system outside of HeySummit

After you import attendees, however, they will be treated exactly like those who have registered directly via HeySummit. That said they will all receive the same emails. If you don’t want them to receive certain emails, youโ€™ll have to change your email template settings before importing.

Also, please make sure that you create your various tickets before importing attendees. You cannot go back and assign them to a ticket.

This extends the custom payment processing feature available for the Business plan. Itโ€™s the first step towards offering external plug & play payment options. Stay tuned!

PayPal For Attendees

Sometimes customers cannot pay with a credit card for various reasons. Now, your attendees can pay for their summit tickets via PayPal!

If you don’t have a PayPal account yourself, that’s no problem at all. You will still be paid out through the account of your choice.
