Meta Box AIO Introduces New Database Optimization Tools

Anh from Meta Box has just announced the release of a set of four database optimization tools for the custom fields plugin for WordPress. Available in Meta Box AIO.

Why is it necessary to optimise your database on a regular basis? Even after you delete things, unused data such as fields, IDs and post types often remains in your database and slows down your WordPress site over time. These new tools make cleaning up quick and easy, helping to keep your site fast and free of clutter.

If you are a Meta Box AIO customer, you will see a new menu called ‘Tools’. This includes the following four tools for custom fields and post types:

• Remove Orphan Fields: This automatically removes custom field data that is no longer linked to any post, term or user.
• Remove Custom Fields: Remove specific custom fields via their meta key.
• Change Custom Field Key: Change the ID of the custom field without losing any existing data.
• Change Custom Post Type: This will change the slug of the custom post type (CPT). As a result, all the old custom post types will be converted to the new post type.
