Welcome to the 131st issue of The Pier. WooCommerce has announced a new partnership with Mastercard. Merchants in Europe, the Middle East and Africa (EMEA) will gain access to Mastercard Merchant Cloud, a unified gateway offering enhanced payment processing and advanced fraud prevention.

Interesting: Filter AI 1.5 introduces a new Summary block for AI-optimized content and intelligent grammar checking. It also gives you more options for generating titles and text.

Great: Voxel Toolkit has released a sneak peek of the upcoming listing comparison function for Voxel-powered directories.

Conversions I: Marketing for SureCart 1.6 adds a new active carts activity indicator, notice and badges for SureCart-powered stores to show how many people currently have the product in their carts. There is also a new option to display recent sales badges on shop/archive pages and product pages, as well as settings to customize the recent sales timeframe, threshold, and colours.

Conversions II: AB Split Test has released a demo of its new Magic point-and-click AI chat feature. You can now click on any element of the page or start chatting directly with it to instantly receive intelligent, contextual and CRO-trained test suggestions.

Wow: Tourfic now supports Elementor, enabling you to edit single pages and archives of your travel booking website with the popular website builder.

Milestone: Hostinger Reach has gained 150,000 customers in six months.

👋 Voxel ❤️ OSM

The new OpenStreetMap (OSM) integration in Voxel 1.7.3 means that you no longer have to use Google Maps. This is particularly good news for users who are concerned about GDPR.

You can also add custom map tiles by using a different tile server to the default OSM one, such as MapTiler, Stadia Maps, Carto or Thunderforest. These services offer hosted, styled tiles with higher rate limits, uptime guarantees and commercial use options.

Finally, Voxel supports Nominatim as a free geocoding provider. However, due to its strict usage limits, Nominatim is not suitable for commercial use. Therefore, you can also use Google Maps or Mapbox for geocoding, even if your map provider is set to OSM.

WordPress

Etch 1.0.0-beta-7 introduces support for custom values in the CSS Mini GUI. This allows you to define and manage your own CSS snippets based on project-specific variables.

Stackable 3.19.5 introduces an icon list block with the option to retain custom SVG colours.

Cloudways announces a new partnership with Equalize Digital, through which the Accessibility Checker will be made available on its platform.

Perfmatters 2.5.5 introduces a new Import/Export option for code snippets. You can now export individual snippets or a subset of snippets via a bulk action, as well as all stored snippets via the new ‘Code Settings’ export button. New front-end and admin footer locations have also been added for CSS code snippets.

With Formidable Forms, you can now add custom CSS to your WordPress forms (video).

WP ULike Pro 1.9.9 introduces a new, comprehensive GDPR toolset featuring user search and bulk log removal capabilities, ensuring compliance with data protection regulations. There is also an advanced bulk actions feature with various filters to help you manage your content efficiently.

The Teaser feature, which was previously only available in the Pro version of PublishPress Permissions, is now available to all users.

With Multicollab 5.2, you can build a complete editorial workflow within WordPress. You can also assign permissions and ensure that your entire team is kept up to date, eliminating the need for Docs, Slack or scattered checklists.

Oxygen 6.0 Beta 5 introduces new grid alignment icons and inline editing for text links, as well as CSS variable support for opacity.

BricksExtras adds a new image hotspot marker. This nestable marker element pairs with the Image Hotspots element to create individual hotspots on images.

With Remind Me, you can keep track of your renewals and premium plugin usage directly from your WordPress dashboard.

ACF 6.7 introduces inline editing for ACF blocks.

Filter AI 1.5 introduces a new Summary block for AI-optimized content and intelligent grammar checking. It also gives you more options for generating titles and text.

Scanfully releases the first feature of its new Content Health module, Broken Links, in beta.

E-Commerce

Toolkit for SureCart 1.6 adds a new product ID column to the admin columns, a new setting to disable the SureCart chat window, and HTML support in the price descriptions feature.

Metorik is also available as a dedicated desktop app for Mac and Windows, giving you the option to run your store from there.

ThriveCart announces that its Flodesk integration is now available on all plans, including the Standard plan. You can automate email workflows based on purchases, upsells and subscriptions, as well as segment buyers and deliver personalized journeys.

With the new OpenAI feed type, AdTribes now lets you create product feeds designed specifically for AI tools like ChatGPT.

Payhip launches seven new payment gateways.

ThriveCart announces ThrivePay, its own ‘Buy Now, Pay Later’ service. It’s basically flexible payments without the limitations of traditional BNPL.

OttoKit 1.1.15 adds a new FluentCart integration.

SEO

SEOPress 9.4 marks the beginning of better integration with the Block Editor, introducing a new, universal metabox icon.

Slim SEO Pro 1.8.0 now supports podcast schemas, including PodcastEpisode, PodcastSeason and PodcastSeries. Slim SEO 4.8.1 adds basic support for GenerateBlocks containers, text and headlines.

Web Analytics

Usermaven adds new report types to provide greater clarity. From customer journey reports to trend reports, you can now easily delve deeper into user behaviour. With flexible scheduling options, you’ll receive automatic updates on your metrics. There is also a new spend-period attribution mode that allows you to measure conversions based on your advertising spend, making it easier to track ROI. Finally, the look-back window for attribution has been extended to 365 days.
