Mobile Exit-Intent

User behaviour has changed significantly in recent years. While people used to use their desktop to browse the internet, today about half of all website traffic is on mobile devices. In addition, nearly 80% of smartphone users use their device to make a purchase. It is therefore no surprise that a mobile exit-intent was the most requested feature by OptinMonster customers. Good news, it is now available!

Mobile exit intent was developed with mobile user behaviour in mind. They found that many users on mobile pages scroll up as a gesture to fold down the address bar. Or, they simply tap on the back button. Either way, OptinMonsterโ€™s mobile exit-intent is now able to capture them.

There are two triggers that will allow you to boost sales, grow your email list, or convert abandoned carts for example:

  • Scroll Up Trigger
Mobile visitors who start scrolling up on your page often signal that they are no longer interested in the page’s content. Therefore, this is a great chance to give them a reason to stay here. Simply add exit intent to your mobile campaign and choose a sensitivity of either low or medium.
  • Back Button Trigger
When a mobile user taps the Back button, they definitely want to leave your website. You can only encourage these visitors to stay and still make a purchase by making them an enticing offer. The mobile exit intent triggered by the back button comes with the scroll up trigger if you select high sensitivity.

In other news, OptinMonster added a new Donate template to their collection of 100 professionally-designed campaign templates. Soon, their display rules engine will get a facelift. Stay tuned!
