For all our WordPress and Laravel/Vue.js projects, we use Ploi to manage our Hetzner servers and Let’s Encrypt certificates. Now we might give ZeroSSL a chance and will update this post with a comparison of the two.

The new ZeroSSL integration allows you to easily secure your websites while maintaining the streamlined experience you expect from Ploi.

While Let’s Encrypt remains a great choice, ZeroSSL offers additional features including Extended Validation (EV) certificates, priority support and flexible certificate management.

You’ll also benefit from higher rate limits for certificate issuance and a convenient dashboard to manage all your certificates in one place. For high-traffic sites or multiple domains, ZeroSSL’s infrastructure provides robust support for large-scale deployments with reliable performance and seamless renewals.

What’s More?

In other news, Ploi has also introduced some exciting new features to enhance your server management experience:

  • HTTP3 Support (in Beta):
Experience faster, more reliable connections with Ploi’s new HTTP3 certificate support. Note that not all servers support this as you will need NGINX 1.25 or higher.
  • Improved Deployments:
Support for custom variables for webhook URLs and API deployment endpoints gives you more control over your deployments than ever before.
  • Smarter Backups:
You now have access to a new TAR compression option for more efficient storage. They have also added automatic cleanup of failed backups and improved backup management through the API.

Finally, Ploi offers you a 10% discount if you switch to an annual subscription – now with automatic enrolment.
