Real Cookie Banner 4.7 Introduces Sticky Legal Links

The devowl team has just released Real Cookie Banner 4.7, introducing new sticky legal links and support for new languages for the cookie banner and consent management plugin for WordPress.

Visitors to your website have the right to withdraw or modify their consent and to receive information about the consent they have already given. In order to exercise these rights, you can place so-called legal links on your website using Real Cookie Banner. Previously, you could place the links as menu items and shortcodes in the footer of your website, for example.

Since version 4.7.0, you can now display a widget or icon that is always visible on the WordPress site, which can be used to quickly access the legal links of the cookie banner. Sticky legal links come with numerous design options and are available in the Pro version.

What’s More?

Over the past few months, the devowl team has had translations made into Greek, Romanian, Hungarian, Slovak and Finnish, including detailed adaptations of the cookie banner to the respective country-specific legal interpretations. This means that Real Cookie Banner is available in all 17 languages that are official national languages in the EU.

You can prepare for server outages with efficient in-memory page caches such as LiteSpeed Webserver or FastCGI for NGINX. Or you can use technologies such as Cloudflare Always Online so that your website is still accessible even in the event of a server failure. If your server goes down, documentation is no longer possible – and the cookie banner used to appear again on every subpage. Real Cookie Banner now stores consents locally in your website visitor’s browser and attempts to document them as soon as the server is available again.
