Bunny Stream Introduces New Video Player
Bunny.net has just announced the general availability of the new Bunny Stream Video Player. It has been developed using Web Components and the open-source Media Chrome project.
Bunny Stream Video Player
If you’re developing video applications, Bunny Stream provides a comprehensive, end-to-end solution for hosting, encoding and delivering videos. However, the video player is what matters most to your viewers.
Check out the benefits of the new video player:
- Improved user interface,
- Faster, smoother playback,
- Consistency across all major browsers and
- Accessibility improvements.
The HTML-first approach offers several advantages, including flexible customization using standard HTML and CSS, improved accessibility through semantic control elements, and a more predictable control structure for styling and scripting.
By developing the Bunny Stream Video Player using Media Chrome, they are aligning with a broader shift in the web video ecosystem towards more composable, HTML-first player architectures.
This makes the player more flexible and easier to extend over time. The new Bunny Stream Player is now available to all users and is used by default for all newly created video libraries. For now, there are no plans to retire the legacy player.
