One-Click Demo Installs
This latest update introduces more flexibility than ever before, especially for the onboarding process. Basically, it improves the loading experience of demo content a lot. No more frustrated “My site looks nothing like the theme demo!” complaints from users and customers, but hassle-free one-click demo installs with Gutenberg blocks.
Genesis 2.8 allows theme developers to define which demo content, Gutenberg blocks, and plugins are loaded on theme installation. This will definitely reduce the time to load demo content along with dependent plugins tremendously.
In addition, all default and custom Gutenberg blocks can be re-used on any other WordPress page or post delivering a great modular user experience when building new content.
Jump straight into customizing your site content without wasting any time on initial site configuration.
Genesis Configuration API
Apart from this, StudioPress added the Genesis Configuration API to Genesis 2.8. This allows WordPress theme developers to store any theme specific design configuration for Gutenberg blocks such as editor colour palettes, editor font sizes, and theme support arrays.
Please note: All WP Engine hosting customers can get free access to StudioPress themes.
