KeyCDN w/ Let’s Encrypt Integration: Free SSL Certificate for Zone Alias

KeyCDN have proudly announced that they are not only a sponsor of Let’s Encrypt, but are also one of the first CDN providers offering an integration with this brand-new “free, automated, and open certificate authority” (CA), which is now in public beta.

This integration allows all KeyCDN customers to use free SSL certificates for their custom zone aliases such as https://cdn.yourdomain.com for instance. This can simply be done via the KeyCDN dashboard. However, you can use only one zonealias per zone and are limited to 5 certificates for a registered domain in a sliding window of 7 days.

According to their stats, more than 140k certificates have been issued to date, which are trusted by all major browsers by the way. Pretty amazing, isn’t it? At the moment, Let’s Encrypt is only supporting domain validation certificates with no plans to expand their service to organization validation or extended validation (EV) certificates.

Speed up your site with the HTTP/2 ready KeyCDN content delivery network and secure your site with Let’s Encrypt.
