MainWP Releases Redesigned Navigation, Flexible Widgets & Demo Mode
Dennis from MainWP has just released version 4.5 of their WordPress management plugin, introducing a redesigned dashboard navigation, flexible widgets, better connection options, and more. They have also released a new demo mode in September.
MainWP 4.5
With version 4.5, MainWP has delivered significant updates to help you stay organized and manage WordPress sites easier than ever before. Let’s dive right in!
- Redesigned MainWP Dashboard Navigation:
The new, simplified main navigation now features a three-level navigation layout, providing additional space for future releases while keeping things neat and tidy. - Flexible Widgets:
Flexible Widgets lets you customize your dashboard by adjusting the widgets to fit your specific needs. So instead of being tied to a fixed two or three column layout, you can now drag, drop, stretch and shrink your widgets. - Site Specific Search for Plugins & Themes:
To improve your plugin and theme management workflow, MainWP has introduced a brand new Per Site view. - Find Sites with Missing Plugins & Themes:
They have also added the status “Not installed” to the search options on both the Manage Plugins and Manage Themes pages. This allows you to find child sites that don’t have certain plugins or themes installed. - New Client Overview Page Widgets:
MainWP has added the following three new widgets to the Client Overview page: Recent Posts, Recent Pages and Non-MainWP Changes. - MainWP REST API Key Permissions:
For added security, you can now set read, write and delete permissions for each MainWP REST API key.
In addition, you can now select a custom signature verification algorithm and use PHPSecLib as an alternative to OpenSSL. They have also added PHPSecLib as a fallback option to OpenSSL, which helps when setting up a localhost. Finally, MainWP has updated over 20 extensions and introduced an improved encryption system for third-party API keys.
New Demo Mode
Want to try out MainWP without having to connect your sites first? Good news: MainWP now offers a new demo mode that allows new users to experience the WordPress management plugin first hand with sample data and guided tours.
