Welcome to the 56th issue of The Pier. This week Graham from BuddyBoss announced that they have been acquired. BuddyBoss is now part of the Awesome Motive family. With the exception of Tom and Michael, the entire team will continue in their current roles. The two co-founders will continue to work on Rapyd, the new web hosting platform, as they move on to the next chapter of their lives.

We would also like to welcome VendBase (formerly WooBase) to The Port.

🤙 Solid Performance in Beta

Solid Performance is a new plugin that helps you deliver a faster, better experience for visitors to your WordPress site. Over time, they’ve planned to incorporate several technologies, but they’re starting with the one that gives the most value for money: Page caching.

At the moment it’s pretty basic and not really a competitor to WP Rocket or FlyingPress (our favourite WordPress speed optimization plugin).

Solid Central releases a new Activity Timeline, designed to provide a detailed log of activity on your sites, from updates and deactivations to vulnerabilities and site restores.
Conversion Bridge now integrates with GiveWP in version 1.3.3.
FireBox improves accessibility with features such as trap focus, auto focus, return focus and ESC key close, ensuring everyone can use pop-ups effectively.
Thanks to a new partnership between Amelia and SuperbThemes, you can get a free theme that comes pre-configured with the Amelia appointment booking and scheduling plugin.
Tutor LMS 2.7.3 adds new course deletion settings for instructors.
GiveWP introduces registration fees for peer-to-peer fundraising (P2P).
MemberPress releases a new Social Login add-on.
Formidable Forms releases a new ConvertKit add-on that allows you to connect your forms to your email subscriber lists.

Ecommerce

SureCart announces custom fields for version 3.0, currently in alpha. A fully tested beta is planned for the end of July.
Not selling subscriptions with SureCart? Well, you should be! Stripe has announced that they are retiring the Billing Starter plan and moving all customers to a single plan that includes all of Stripe’s billing features-along with a 40% increase in fees from 0.5% to 0.7% of billing volume. Good news: This will not affect SureCart users, as subscriptions are managed by SureCart, not Stripe.
Unique: Address Autocomplete 1.4 adds support for the WooCommerce Checkout block.

User Onboarding

Usetiful now integrates with Mailchimp, lets you preview product tours in different languages you’ve set in Localization, and supports more webhook events.

Community Platforms

Heartbeat introduces voice notes, allowing you to add them to posts, comments, chats and direct messages. It comes with searchable, automatically generated transcripts. Voice notes are currently only available on mobile.

Video Conferencing & Podcasting

Sessions now allows booking owners to export the contact details of anyone who’s booked a session with them through that booking page. You can also embed the custom branded workspace booking page into a website.
Castmagic releases over 100 new prompts for captions, newsletters, LinkedIn, X, reels and YouTube scripts, allowing you to instantly turn your context and ideas into high converting content. There is also a new increased file size limit for uploading files up to 10GB.

Reputation Management

EmbedMyReviews announces that the Tripadvisor integration is available again, automatically syncing reviews based on the customer’s sync schedule.

Marketing Attribution

Weberlo introduces a new Lite plan for $39 per month for up to 20k pageviews and $10k sales per month.

Social Media

ContentStudio introduces Facebook Reel and Instagram Reel analytics, shared folder for media library and multi-channel YouTube posting.
Nuelink releases a much anticipated new integration with Canva. You can now also schedule posts and threads on Threads, get insights, and add follow-up comments. Plus, you can even cross-post your Threads to LinkedIn, X/Twitter, and more.
