Shopify – Sell on Twitter & Same-day Delivery via Uber

Shopify has come up with yet another couple of new surprises. After the partnership with Amazon, the new Xero app and Shopify Shipping, Shopify have teamed up with Twitter and Uber.

Sell on Twitter

Shopify have partnered with Twitter making “Buy now” buttons available to your followers aka customers via the Twitter sales channel free of charge. Thus merchants are able to sell across all three major social networks including Facebook and Pinterest. That’s a unique selling proposition no other ecommerce platform can cope with to date.

By clicking on the “Buy now” button within a Tweet, customers are able to view product information including size, color, and style. After entering and confirming both shipping and payment information, the order will show up in Shopify.

The Twitter buttons are only available to merchants and shoppers from the United States at the moment – more countries are listed on their roadmap.

Same-day Delivery via Uber

Shopify have teamed up with Uber to offer affordable and reliable same-day delivery via UberRUSH even for small businesses. However, there is downside as this brand-new shipping option is only available to (select) merchants operating online stores in New York, San Francisco and Chicago with more locations coming soon.

Merchants can schedule an UberRUSH courier pickup right from within the orderโ€™s fulfillment screen. Both you and your customers can then track the order in real-time.
