WPML 4.0

Currently in beta, this major update brings overall improvements to the translation workflow making it easier than ever to translate the content of your multilingual WordPress sites. There’s better separation between site administration and translation management. Check out its new features:

Translation Manager Role

WPML 4.0 comes with a new dedicated Translation Manager role who is responsible for content translation. He or she can assign translation privileges to translators, send content to translation, and reviews finished translation tasks. This comes in quite handy especially for large WordPress sites, right? The new translation manager does not need to be a site admin, but an editor at least.

Check our the new wizard for WPMLโ€™s Translation Management. Small or one-person sites and blogs can skip the wizard or simply assign the new role to anyone.

More New Features

  • New media translation: Upload “replacement” images for different languages
  • New Advanced Translation Editor: Increase the speed & accuracy of translations
  • Multilingual Content Setup moved to WPML > Settings
  • Fast Word Count Tool: Support of pages, posts, custom post types, WordPress editor & page builders
  • Taxonomy Slug Translation

The production version is scheduled to be released in less than a week. You can download the beta right from within your account. However, please do not mix any beta and production components of WPML. Soon, they are going to release more updates related to the upcoming Gutenberg editor.
