ACPT 2.0: New UI, Form Builder, Meta Field Groups & Meta Field Builder

Today marks the release of ACPT 2.0, the much anticipated major upgrade to the custom post type framework for WordPress. Mauro started developing the plugin as an alternative to the popular Meta Box and ACF plugins.

New Features

ACPT 2.0 has been an almost complete rewrite, with a huge amount of new code being written. Let’s dive right in:

• New UI: ACPT v2 comes with a completely new UI and UX.
• Meta Field Groups: There is no need to copy your fields over and over again. The meta field groups can now be freely assigned to CTPs, taxonomies, users or option pages.
• New Meta Fields Builder: Version 2 introduces a smarter and faster meta field builder. Bulk actions have been introduced to speed up your work.
• New Form Builder: ACPT v2 comes with a built-in, ready-to-use form builder for your websites.
• New Gutenberg Blocks: Basic Field, Relational Field & Repeater Field blocks are now available. You can finally render any ACPT field in the standard WordPress editor with just a few clicks.
• Nested Repeaters & Flexible Fields: No more restrictions on nestable fields.

Finally, ACPT 2.0 has introduced 7 new meta field types, bringing the total number of available types to 40, and a redesigned and refactored relational field to be more robust, flexible and easy to use.
