aheadWorks: M2 Layered Navigation with Loads of New SEO Features

Yesterday, aheadWorks have released a new version of their M2 Layered Navigation extension. This update is adding loads of SEO enhancements and new features to v1.5 such as canonical URLs for instance.

  • SEO-friendly URLs: Define the URL look
    Decide how the URLs with applied filters look: default, attribute values instead IDs, attributes as subcategories
  • Disable indexing of catalog search pages
    Let web crawlers know that search pages should be avoided.
  • Add Canonical URLs
    Avoid duplicate content by telling search engines your preferred page versions
  • Meta title & description
    Catalog pages with filters applied use attribute values for meta information.
  • 301 Redirects
    If some of your catalog pages, with URLs of a different look, were indexed by search engines, automatic 301 redirect will make sure such pages are redirected to the relevant ones of Layered Navigation.
  • Rewrite meta robots
    For category search pages meta robots tag can automatically include NOINDEX, NOFOLLOW to avoid duplicate content.
  • Applied filters block
    Active filters are displayed at the top of the layered navigation results page to improve UX
