As announced last month, Creative Market has some exciting news for shop owners selling fonts on their creative marketplace. Soon, they’ll introduce new font licenses. That’s really good news for font designers!

New Font Licenses

As the typographic landscape changes rapidly, they have to keep up with the pace. For the first time, youโ€™ll be able to price and license your fonts based on the medium where theyโ€™ll be used by your customers. With more comprehensive licenses come new income opportunities, markets you may not have tapped into, and the next stage of growth for your Creative Market shop.

These are the four license types that will soon be replacing the Standard License for all your font products. Also, theyโ€™ll cover a wider range of digital uses out of the box.

  • Desktop font
  • Webfont
  • App
  • E-pub

At the moment these links are only available for shop owners, so make sure you’re logged in if you want to look over this content. These new font licenses will open up new possibilities for your shop really. Within the next couple of weeks they’ll be adding these new licenses to the product editor tool so you can update your prices as needed before the licenses launch to customers.

The fonts customers have already purchased under an old license will keep the allowances in those terms.
