Easy Digital Downloads Launches EDD Pro

The folks at Easy Digital Downloads have recently released version 3.1.1 of their e-commerce plugin for WordPress. Despite the version number, this is a massive update that introduces EDD Pro, a Stripe Payment Element, an onboarding wizard, and more.

EDD Pro

Previously there was only a free version of Easy Digital Downloads available in the WordPress repository, with premium add-ons available for purchase. Since the latest update, a pro version called EDD Pro is available which includes premium extensions as follows:

• Duplicate Downloads
• Free Downloads
• Invoices
• Add to Cart Popup
• Multi-Currency
• Download Email Attachments

It also includes integration with Stripe Payment Elements, GeoIP support at checkout, new Gutenberg blocks and more.

Note that EDD Pro is available to both existing and new Easy Digital Downloads pass holders.

Onboarding Setup Wizard

The shiny new onboarding wizard allows new Easy Digital Downloads users to easily set up their online store in five simple steps, including business details, payment methods, emails, conversion and optimization tools, and products.

As part of the Awesome Motive Family of Brands, you can optionally install WP Mail SMTP, MonsterInsights, All In One SEO, and more.

Stripe Payment Element

Finally, Easy Digital Downloads now supports the Stripe Payment Element for a smoother and more reliable checkout. Your customers can also use Link by Stripe to save their payment details for faster checkout on future orders. This works on any site that supports Link.

In other news, the Easy Digital Downloads Extensions screen now allows you to browse EDD add-ons and install them with the click of a button (or upgrade your license). They have also released the following two new Gutenberg blocks: User Downloads and Checkout.
