GenerateBlocks 2.0 Introduces New Blocks, Dynamic Tags & Better Global Styles

Tom from GeneratePress has just announced the upcoming release of GenerateBlocks 2.0, which is nothing short of a “new era” in no-code website building in WordPress.

GenerateBlocks 2.0

GenerateBlocks 2.0 is just around the corner, currently in alpha. It comes with a landslide of really powerful improvements including new Gutenberg blocks, improved Global Styles integration, dynamic tags and an improved user interface with full search/filter functionality.

While Blocks 2.0 is a major upgrade, existing Version 1 blocks will not change or disappear. Existing WordPress sites will continue to work exactly the same with GenerateBlocks 2.0, with no action required on your part. Users upgrading from 1.x will still have version 1 blocks available by default.

In GenerateBlocks 2.0, the Query block has been re-built to allow you to query post meta and data in your options table. For example, if you’re using Advanced Custom Fields (ACF) to create repeaters in your posts or in your options pages, you can now query those repeaters and output any available data within them using the new dynamic tag system.
