Pier #169 – Shopify Acquires Tailwind, WPGlotty Challenges TranslatePress & Weglot, Next Etch Launch, Modula 3.0 Beta & Free Supademo Credits
Welcome to the 169th issue of The Pier. WPGlotty is a new translation plugin that enables you to translate your WordPress site into any of 108 languages using your own Claude, DeepL, Gemini, Google Translate or OpenAI API key. It’s an alternative to TranslatePress, WPML and Weglot.
Acquisition: Shopify has acquired Tailwind Labs!
Coming Soon: Next Etch will be launched on September 15.
Exciting: Bifrost has announced the next step in app store evolution. You can now use MCP to connect your AI assistant to Bifrost, where you can find projects, check credits, manage builds, upload signing credentials and run workflows. Speaking of which, workflows run builds for you when something happens in your repository. New features include Managed Credentials and AI-powered failed build diagnosis.
Milestone: WPConsent has crossed 200,000 active installs.
Here is a selection of the latest and greatest blog posts we published this week on Ahoi.dev. You will also find some interesting industry news, the latest directory listings on The Port, job openings, and more. Enjoy!

👋 Modula 3.0: Rebuilt Gallery Editor
Modula 3.0 Beta (RC2) introduced the most significant changes to the WordPress gallery plugin yet. The gallery editor has been redesigned to be faster and more user-friendly. What’s new:
- Live preview: Change a setting and the gallery updates immediately. There’s no need to save and reload to check anymore.
- Mobile devices made simple: Set columns for each screen size and click to see the result.
- Edit photos in the sidebar: Click on a photo to edit its alt text, title, caption and focus point. No pop-ups in the way.
- Select multiple photos & perform a single action: Select photos, then add a watermark, replace them, apply a filter or remove them all at once.
- Undo & redo: Made a mistake? You can easily undo it.
- Cleaner galleries list: Access thumbnails, search, filters and copy shortcodes right from the row.
When you try the new editor, it makes a copy. Your original gallery and shortcode will remain unchanged, and you can convert them when you are ready. The old editor is still available if you want it.

👋 New: Heroic Inbox Views
The hardest part of managing a busy support inbox isn’t necessarily answering tickets. Sometimes, it’s knowing which tickets to answer next.
A large inbox can contain a mix of routine questions, urgent requests, VIP customers, ageing conversations and tickets waiting for another team member.
With the new Heroic Inbox Views feature, however, you can create a separate folder for the most important conversations, which you can then keep in your sidebar for one-click access.
For example, you can create views for:
- Urgent conversations that need attention now,
- Unassigned tickets that may be slipping through the cracks,
- Refund and billing requests,
- VIP customers and
- Conversations that have been waiting too long for a reply
Having a few saved views can make a busy inbox much easier to work through.

👋 New: Snapchat Ads Manager
The Uplads team has announced that its Snapchat integration has been released following a testing period this week. Like TikTok and Meta, it is now available in the Ad Launcher and Ads Manager, meaning all three can be accessed via the existing screens.
The platform follows whichever ad account you select. Select a Snapchat account and the launcher will build ad squads; select TikTok and it will build ad groups; select Meta and it will build ad sets. There is no need to switch modes or set anything up twice.
🗞️ Bites & Pieces
WordPress
With Classic Monks 2.3.0, switching to the WordPress core stack plugin from ASE Pro or Perfmatters is as easy as clicking a button. The migration assistant will transfer your settings and show you exactly what has moved. Admin Columns Manager supports HPOS and Polylang. In addition, it includes one-click role duplication, live redirect preview, a short link creator, collapsible category trees and more.
In Breakdance 3.0 Beta 8, variables can now have different values at each breakpoint. Interactions can also be run in the builder, and MCP support has been added for responsive variables and hover styles.
Directorist releases new M-Pesa Payment Gateway extension. Version 1 starts with Safaricom, Kenya’s leading operator. Watch the walkthrough video to find out more.
Presto Player’s AI Abilities is now live, offering a fresh approach to working with your videos through AI. Connect the video player plugin to an AI client such as Claude, ChatGPT, Cursor or Windsurf and instruct it to find information or carry out supported actions on your behalf. For example: ‘Add this YouTube video to my Media Hub and title it “Onboarding Demo”, “Show me the drop-off curve for my last upload.” or “List the videos I published this month.”
Activity Log Pro 1.2.0 introduces new User Cards. Click on any username in the activity log to view useful contextual information without having to leave the screen. Premium users also receive login history, recent activity, and security insights. New features include one-click IP filtering and (advanced) recorded notes.
WordPress Performance
Perfmatters 2.6.8 introduces an advanced option called ‘Inline Excluded Stylesheets’ that automatically inlines stylesheets excluded by the ‘Remove Unused CSS’ feature. A new Safe Mode option has also been added, which disables all Perfmatters performance optimisations sitewide without impacting security-related options or code snippets.
E-Commerce & A/B Testing
Starting with AB Split Test 2.6.11, external domain testing now supports all test types. Additionally, heatmaps, page analytics and session replays are available on external domains.
Abandoned cart recovery is now built directly into North Commerce. Additionally, you can sync new customers into Kit.
Web Analytics & Marketing Attribution
With Usermaven MCP, you can connect the marketing attribution and analytics platform to supported AI tools, such as ChatGPT, Claude, Cursor and Codex, and bring your analytics into the conversation you’re already having. Start analyzing marketing, product and attribution data with AI!
Memberships
MemberPress introduces a new Question Bank feature. It’s a smarter way to build and manage quizzes.
Appointment Bookings
With LatePoint 1.6.5, cancellation and reschedule reasons can now be recorded by staff from the admin order panel, not only by customers.
FluentBooking 2.4.0 features a built-in MCP server that makes your booking system accessible to AI assistants. You can now ask a connected assistant to find an available time slot, book it, change it or provide a report on last month’s activity.
CMP
SureCookie 1.5.0 introduces a new ‘Compliance’ section that gathers your legal pages and business details in one place. There is also a new privacy policy generator that creates a draft based on your cookie and consent settings. Consent records can be stored without an IP address, for sites that would prefer not to hold any personal identifiers. Geographic rules can now be applied to individual US states, so a rule can apply to California for CCPA rather than to the whole country.
WPConsent introduces a new Banner Analytics feature that allows you to see how many visitors ignore your cookie banner.
Events
Laravel
Filament releases three brand new, first-party themes: Soft, Sharp and Noir! There is also a new modifier theme that works with both the default and the new themes. Meet Compact!

Voice Notes
With AudioPen MCP, you can connect AudioPen to AI assistants and chat with your notes. The connection is read-only. While ChatGPT and Claude can read your notes, they cannot add, edit or delete them in AudioPen via this integration. This feature is currently available to AudioPen Prime members.
Product Demos
AI Video Generation
Poko Motion introduces MotionCut. It keeps your original face and voice, and then decides when to show you in full screen. It can also zoom or reframe the recording, add motion graphics around you and place visuals beside you. Additionally, it can switch to full-screen images, products, charts or websites, and add music, captions and smooth transitions.
LMS / E-Learning
Klasio can now read SCORM packages natively. Simply upload a package from Articulate Storyline, Adobe Captivate or iSpring and it will run inside your course alongside your other lessons. There’s no need to rebuild content you already own. You can also erase student accounts for GDPR compliance and ask visitors for cookie consent before tracking starts.
Kouib Blocks for Tutor LMS transforms static course listings into fast, interactive experiences within the Gutenberg editor. The plugin features five blocks: Courses Filter, Courses Carousel, Course Category Boxes, Quick Search and Platform Stats.
Project Management & Online Proposals
Server Management
xCloud 2.8.6 introduces backup and restore for Docker applications, whether they were created using OneClick, Docker Compose, Git or a Dockerfile.

Public webhooks are now live in ContentStudio.
