Receipts Mac App Announces DATEV Export & Dark Mode

Last year, I finally made the switch from a Windows notebook to a shiny new MacBook Pro. Gone are the days of constant headaches caused by never-ending update loops. But that’s another story. Once on a Mac, I came across a pretty good receipt filing app called Receipts. However, DATEV export was the only feature that was missing. Well, not anymore!

DATEV Export

Basically, this update is really good news for users located in Germany who want to forward receipts to their tax consultant (“Steuerberater”). The new DATEV export function allows you to transfer your documents and receipts with data such as date, amount, currency and even tax information.

To import this data, access to DATEV Unternehmen Online is required. Please note that a Windows installation is required to run this software. Additionally, the installation of the Windows program Belegtransfer as well as a SmartCard classic or an Identity Stick is necessary.

Dark Mode & OCR

For macOS Mojave, Receipts introduces a shiny new dark mode along with a more streamlined dashboard for a better optical appearance. In previous versions the text recognition often didn’t work well because of a slow algorithm. Now, the new OCR developed for PDFify has been implemented in Receipts as well. Furthermore, the text recognition now supports more than 100 languages.

Receipts for macOS is available for €59.95 (including tax).
