PDFify – A Free App For Simple PDF Creation & Text Recognition
Receipts is our favourite app for filing receipts and invoices created via GrandTotal. The fantastic Mac app now has a little sister called PDFify.
PDFify
The free Mac app allows you to easily create PDFs from images, emails, and web pages. This is especially useful for app store invoices received by email. You can also use your scanner or camera to add new pages to PDF documents. It comes with an extensive dialog for scanners and cameras as well as automatic text recognition (OCR). The latest addition is a new “Speak” button to read text, e.g. from a scanned email.
Actually, these features are also components used in Receipts which is collecting analysis data voluntarily provided by its users. By analyzing this data, its developer found out that there is still room for improvement in terms of text recognition rates.
That said, the scanner and text recognition (OCR) areas were revised and PDFify was finally created as a by-product.
