Recipe Card Blocks Pro just introduced four major updates in version 4.4.0 of their WordPress recipe plugin. This includes cooking utensils, a new cook mode, a recipe shortcode, and UI improvements. That’s quite a pace considering that version 4.0 was only released earlier this year.
With the new Recipe Equipment feature, you can display a list of utensils such as pans, knifes or a mixer needed to prepare a specific recipe. You can add an image and a (affiliate) link to an online store where your users can buy the cooking utensil. Optionally, you can open it in a new window or tab.
Utensils are added to an inventory and can thus be easily and conveniently inserted into multiple recipes.
New Cook Mode
When cooking from recipes, there’s nothing more annoying than trying to unlock your phone with dirty hands, so you can keep reading the recipe, right? If you enable the new cooking mode, you can prevent mobile devices from putting the screen to sleep while following the recipe directions on your food blog.
With the new recipe shortcode you can insert recipes anywhere on your WordPress website. This is very handy if you use Divi or Beaver Builder, for example. For Gutenberg and Elementor you should use the corresponding block or widget.
Improved Settings UI
Lastly, they have introduced a redesigned settings page that offers better navigation. They also added nice icons next to each section in the block settings.
If you are still looking for a great theme for your food blog, you should check out the new CookBook theme. This one was developed by the same developer team and is 100% compatible with Recipe Cards Block Pro.
It comes with many features such as support for multiple authors, recipe index integration, light & dark colour schemes, Elementor integration, featured & popular recipes, and more.
