The development of 1-click restoration of backups has been a challenge. After the official release, it will be possible to restore your website via API or SFTP/FTPS. This should then work flawlessly in any environment.

The 1-click restore feature can be found on the backup tab of each project at Overview > Actions > Restore website. To restore a website, you must of course have a backup created from version 2.3.0.

How does it work? Well, the restore process is pretty straightforward. Your backup is downloaded from WP Umbrella’s cloud storage and reassembled. Then the WordPress REST API or SFTP/FTPS is used to restore your files and database. During the process, your website is put into maintenance mode.

Additionally, they have also improved the backup process, which is now one of the most efficient available on WordPress.

What’s Next?

Maintenance Report V2

The new version 2.0 of WP Umbrella’s maintenance report is planned for October, which will include a template system. This will allow you to save time when it comes to editing client reports. You will also be able to manage multiple brandings if you work for more than one agency.

They will also add a WooCommerce integration and add more data from Google Analytics and improve its display.

Besides, you will be able to send the report to multiple recipients. Last but not least, it will be possible to customize the headings and subheadings.

Team Members & Activity Logs

With the new upcoming Team Members feature, you will be able to invite your team members and assign sites and user roles with permissions to them. Along with that, an activity log will be released so you know who did what with WP Umbrella. These two features are scheduled for late October/early November.

Bulk Actions & Tags

Finally, WP Umbrella will allow you to add or remove plugins in bulk and set up a system of tags and filters to make your WordPress maintenance even more efficient.
