BuddyBoss Announces App Mentions & In-App Purchases

The BuddyBoss team is currently working on some amazing new features for the BuddyBoss App that are scheduled to be released soon. This includes app mentions, in-app purchases (IAP), and more.

New Features

Video Uploading
Members can now upload videos to activity posts, forums, and messages directly from inside the BuddyBoss App. Uploaded videos can be liked and commented on, and moved into albums alongside photos. Soon, members will be able to change video thumbnails inside the app.
Enhanced Deep-Linking
Deep linking is how your app knows to open a link in a specific screen of your app rather than opening it in a browser. The BuddyBoss team released new links for deep linking which can be used to open app specific content such as app pages, in-app products, and core app screens.
Tab Bar Visibility
BuddyBoss just added a new option to set the tab bar to be visible across your entire app and not just on screens specified in your tab bar menu.
New Hooks for Custom Development
They implemented 24 new hooks and are currently working on making all screens reusable as components. They also released new developer tools such as a debug tool along with an updated documentation.

Upcoming New Features

Currently they are working on new features such as including app support for tagging and mentioning members and the ability to add in-app products to your registration form. They will also release a major update to the in-app purchase component which will bring support for more payment modals, an improved integration with membership plugins, and an easier setup of in-app products.
