Classic Monks Introduces Login Security, Plugin & Theme Rollback
Joy from Classic Monks has just announced the release of version 2.5 of its all-in-one core stack plugin for WordPress. Say hello to login security, plugin and theme rollback, and maintenance mode!
New Features

Classic Monks 2.5.0 addresses two of the most frustrating issues that WordPress users face: updates that break the site and login forms that are constantly targeted by bots.
Let’s take a look at what’s new in Classic Monks 2.5:
- Roll Back a Plugin or Theme: If an update causes issues with your site, click ‘Rollback’ on the ‘Plugins’ screen to revert to a working version. Plugins and themes from the WordPress repository can be rolled back to any recent version. For premium or uploaded plugins and themes, Classic Monks saves a backup before each update and retains the last five versions. You can also prevent a rolled-back plugin from asking for another update. Every rollback is recorded under Logs > Rollbacks. It’s similar to what WP Umbrella does.
- Maintenance Mode & Coming Soon: When working on a website, you can now show visitors a ‘Be right back’ or ‘Coming soon’ page. Choose from three designs and customize the heading, message and colours, or use a custom page you’ve built yourself. You can also give admins and selected user roles access to the real site, share a private access link with clients, and tell search engines that the downtime is temporary.
- Login Security: Set a minimum password length and specify whether uppercase and lowercase letters, numbers, and/or symbols are required. This policy applies to registration, profile pages, password resets and WooCommerce. You can also require two-factor authentication (2FA) based on user roles, with a few days’ grace period to set it up. You won’t lock yourself out. You can also add Cloudflare Turnstile or Google reCAPTCHA v3 to the login process, registration and the WooCommerce checkout process. Finally, login code emails can now include a one-click login button. Codes are only sent to existing accounts and there are request limits in place to prevent abuse.
In other news, Classic Monks now allows you to hide any admin page based on user roles. There are also options to hide the ‘Plugins’ and ‘Users’ menus from clients.
