Descript Introduces Scene Stepping & Remote Recording via SquadCast

The Descript team has just announced the August update for their audio/video editing tool, introducing scene stepping, remote recording, Descript for web, and more.

Remote Recording

Descript has acquired SquadCast, a reliable remote recording studio. Good news: Subscribers get access to both platforms for free.

Scene Stepping lets you record your script scene by scene, navigating from one scene to the next with the tap of an arrow key. This makes recording video presentations and screencasts extremely smooth.

You can now edit audio and video projects right in your Chrome browser. It also makes collaboration easier than ever before – simply send a link, no downloads required.

Descript is also much cleaner and easier to navigate. The help menu has been moved to the header, menu settings have been consolidated, it is easier to see who your project is shared with, and you can hide and show the side panel. On the timeline, you’ll find a simplified visibility toggle, a streamlined tool layout, zoom controls and improved slip tool details.
