Descript Launches 22 New Transcription Languages In Beta

Descript just launched 22 new transcription languages for their audio/video editing tool. Note that this feature is currently only available in Descript Beta.

New Transcription Languages

Descript now supports 22 new transcription languages, including Spanish, French, German, Italian and many more European and Asian languages:

  • Spanish, French, German, Italian,
  • Portuguese, Romanian, Malay, Turkish,
  • Polish, Dutch, Hungarian, Czech,
  • Swedish, Croatian, Finnish, Danish
  • Norwegian, Slovak, Catalan, Lithuanian, and Slovenian

They have also launched support for Hindi which is available in the Beta app only. In addition, Descript also improved transcription accuracy. In the tests they conducted, they saw a reduction in errors of between 20 and 50%.

Multi-language transcription will be available to all Descript users in early March 2022.
