Dollie just announced version 2.0 of the automated, scalable WordPress Cloud Platform. The major update focused on blueprints with real-time customizer, staging sites, and client management.
Dollie is designed specifically for WordPress agencies and Website-as-a-Service (WaaS) operators who sell cloud services under their own brand and domain. When do you start your business?
As you might have guessed, Dollie 2.0 is a major overhaul of the white labeled cloud platform builder for WordPress. Let’s take a look at some of the new and fundamentally updated features.
Blueprints + Real-Time Customizer
The Dollie team has now added a real-time customizer to the existing blueprint builder, allowing you or your clients to pre-populate content. These are then loaded onto your WordPress site during creation.
This saves a lot of time on tedious data entry for a new website project when you need to replace content such as business names, emails, addresses and other commonly used variables.
It’s not usually a good idea to make changes to a live website, or to just quickly update a plugin. The risk is simply too great that you will break the website. Dollie wanted to make it easier than ever to test and deploy design builds before they go live.
With staging environments, you can work on issues or redesigns on a completely separate version of your live site within the Dollie platform with one click.
Offering staging functionality to your clients is also a great upselling feature.
With Dollie, managing multiple WordPress sites is truly a breeze. The powerful Site Actions feature allows you to simultaneously both update themes and plugins, create backups and stop or restart sites on your network.
In version 2.0, with Scheduled Site Actions, you can now automate these processes to run once or twice a day, weekly, fortnightly or monthly.
This means that your websites are always up to date and are also backed up regularly.
Better Hub Experience
In version 2.0, Dollie has improved the UX for both you and your customers who use the so-called Hub. It’s where all the magic happens, i.e. where you create your WordPress cloud platform.
In the new Overview, you will find a clear dashboard that shows exactly what is happening in the Hub, i.e. new websites, clients and dollie updates are displayed.
As it says on the tin, the new Clients/Customers Directory lists all your clients inside your Hub. Finally, they have further improved both the UI and UX of the platform.
