Welcome to the 115th issue of The Pier. Etch 0.36.0 has been released, introducing the first step of pattern and component import/export via simple copy and paste. You can now easily share patterns and components across sites. Currently in alpha. Watch the latest live feature walkthrough video.

Strategic Partnership: Rocket.net is joining hosting.com, but will continue to operate independently. Hosting dot com will offer managed WordPress hosting products to all its customers immediately.

AI: Novashare 1.6.2 features new AI share buttons for ChatGPT, Grok and Perplexity. These buttons link to a prompt that summarizes the content of the shared post. Follow button support for Nextdoor has also been added to the social sharing plugin for WordPress.

Great: Droip has extended its free trial from 14 days to 90 days, and is offering its Starter Plan at 70% off for a limited time only.

Wow: Voxel Suite Intelligent Search is now available! Powered by TypeSense, it turns every search box on your Voxel-powered WordPress site into a conversion engine. Features include AI-powered search with typo tolerance, semantic understanding, autocomplete, location intelligence, trending and pinned results, and much more.

Exciting: Trafft has released a new white-label WordPress plugin for its appointment booking platform! After downloading and installing the plugin file from the Trafft dashboard, your agency’s logo will appear instead of Trafft’s.

New: BdThemes has launched the new Dark Reader plugin, which makes it easy to turn your WordPress website into dark mode.

👋 Cloudways Copilot Now Available

Great news for agencies and developers managing hundreds of sites! Cloudways has announced the general availability of Cloudways Copilot, an AI-powered assistant (see The Pier #84) that can diagnose and resolve server issues in minutes without the need for a support ticket. Common server issues can be resolved in under 6 minutes.

It is available now for all new paid Cloudways Flexible accounts, with rollout to existing users continuing until 30 September 2025. As a launch offer, every customer will receive five free AI Insight credits and two free SmartFixes each month for six months — enough to fully test out Copilot’s capabilities.

WordPress

LifterLMS 9.0 introduces ‘Protected Media Files’, which keep your intellectual property, such as videos, PDFs and audio files, secure. Also new are advanced spam and fraud prevention, a mobile-first student experience, and streamlined course management.

Gleap 13.0.8 now allows you to restrict the visibility of the chat widget by user role, as well as for the frontend and backend separately.

Perfmatters 2.5.0 introduces new WP-CLI subcommands for clearing minified JavaScript and CSS files and local fonts. It also adds support for targeting the header element when using the parent selector matching functions, and support for enabling and disabling the clean uninstall option in WP-CLI.

SEOPress 9.1 now allows you to use GPT-5 to generate meta titles, descriptions, and alt texts. You can also import global settings from AIOSEO and instantly add SEO-friendly alt text to your images when you upload them. This text is automatically pulled from your WooCommerce product variations.

WowOptin 1.4.8 introduces European Union geolocation targeting.

WP ULike Pro 1.9.4 introduces a new content type filter to the world map, providing more precise insights.

With the release of Paid Memberships Pro 3.2, the Recurring Payment Email Reminders feature is now included in the core plugin. Previously only available as a premium PMPro add-on, this feature sends a reminder email X days before a recurring payment.

Solid Central Pro now enables you to move entire WordPress sites from one server to another without the need for plugins or DNS configuration. You can also push changes from staging to production with just a few clicks, and group your sites by environment (development, staging, production).

Fluent Forms Pro 6.1.0 introduces a new Report module, offering valuable insights into your form submissions and their performance.

ShortPixel Image Optimizer introduces a new auto-generate ALT text, captions & descriptions, bulk processing for your entire Media Library, context-aware outputs by language, site, page, or post, and a new preview mode.

MagicChecklists is now fully compatible with i18n, enabling its developers to incorporate translations for any language. You can also now view tasks in a Kanban board and add comments or assign tasks to specific users.

MagicAssistant introduces a new content mode that allows you to create stunning, unique content for your website. You can insert general settings such as length, language and tone, as well as custom and site context and links, which the MagicAssistant AI will analyse before writing.

Magic Text Block 1.6.0 introduces a realistic text marker with eight authentic and eye-catching highlighter styles. Available on the WordPress repository.

Pie Calendar Pro 1.3.8 releases a new ‘Month – List with Image’ view that allows you to display all of your events for the current month in a clean layout. Also new is the ‘List – Upcoming’ view and duration control, which lets you display events across multiple months (video).

E-Commerce

WPXPO is bringing its WordPress and WooCommerce expertise to Shopify. The new WowETA app has been designed to address one of the most common challenges in eCommerce: giving customers clear and accurate delivery information.

Conversion Bridge 1.9.2 now supports Usermaven‘s Autocapture feature.

The Checkout block in WooCommerce 10.1 now updates in real time to enhance the user experience, while the Product Collection block allows you to display products by tag or category directly from the editor, without the need for custom code.

WooCommerce Subscriptions now includes gifting, enabling customers to purchase subscriptions for others.

Affiliate, Viral & Referral Marketing

With the new Live Designer from Partnero, you can edit your referral portal and program pages in real time and instantly see the results. In other news, the Refer-a-Friend feature now integrates seamlessly with both Paddle Billing and Paddle Classic. This allows you to reward referrals while keeping billing and subscriptions perfectly in sync.

FluentAffiliate 1.0.1 adds support for Multisite and WP-CLI, enabling migration from AffiliateWP. Stay tuned for the public launch!

RafflePress 1.12.19 now supports WhatsApp entries.

Server Management

xCloud Blueprints now support multiple themes, enabling you to incorporate more than one theme into your blueprint pack. xCloud also detects the largest files and folders on your server. This helps you to identify which files and folders are taking up the most space, enabling you to manage your storage more effectively. Finally, you can set up a blank PHP site with only a welcome page, and upload your own application later. Version 1.9.1 brings PageSpeed Insights directly to your dashboard for performance monitoring.

Cloud & Edge Computing

Bunny.net‘s Magic Containers now supports real-time log forwarding, enabling you to stream logs directly to your preferred Syslog tools and integrate them seamlessly with your existing observability stack.

DigitalOcean’s new MCP (Model Context Protocol) server enables you to manage your DO cloud resources with ease using simple, natural language commands. This free, local-first tool lets you use your favourite AI assistants such as Cursor or Claude to control key services like Droplets, Databases, and Spaces Storage.

Customer Support

Gleap adds a new Open Tickets section to the dashboard to help you avoid missing any critical tickets.

Product Demos

Supademo releases a new Google Tag Manager (GTM) integration that allows you to add custom scripts to your product demos, e.g. a chat widget or an analytics tracking tool. In other news, you can now also set a custom autoplay duration per slide.

Screen Recorder & AI Note Taker

Bubbles introduces new workspace-wide Notetaker settings. You can now set or enforce defaults for Notetaker settings across your workspace.

WhatsApp Automation

With the new Delay Action feature, Pabbly Chatflow makes your WhatsApp conversations feel more natural and personal by adding realistic pauses between messages.

Social Media

SocialBee releases a new Post Editor, currently in beta (video).

Nuelink releases a new n8n integration that allows you to connect Nuelink to thousands of apps and automatically publish or schedule your content. Available on n8n Cloud and Self-Hosted.

EmailOctopus introduces a new campaign setup screen, which allows you to send email campaigns to all your subscribers, focus on an existing segment, target contacts with a specific tag or create an advanced new segment.

Private Podcasting

Hiro adds at-a-glance stats, order IDs, and full logs with details about the order, plus complete activity trails. With episode plays and drop-off data, you can now see exactly where people engage with your content.

AI Audio & Video

Descript introduces templates for its AI co-editor, Underlord: Ready-made, battle-tested workflows for the most popular types of video, including explainer videos, social clips and slides-to-video.

Virtual Events

HeySummit introduces a new image carousel to its landing page builder, allowing you to showcase product shots, event photos or promotional banners. In other news, you can now import categories in bulk using a simple CSV file, create custom affiliate registration fields and use new filters in the page builder.

Job Boards

Job Boardly now offers Category Mapping for XML imports. This feature allows you to select a category field from the XML file and map it to an existing category. A new Job ID field has also been added to the XML feed. This makes it easy to differentiate between job listings.
