🤙 Automattic Acquires WPAI

Automattic has acquired WPAI, an AI startup focused on building AI solutions for WordPress. The founders, including James LePage, Greg Hunt and Ovidiu Iulian Galatan, will join Automattic to integrate innovative AI solutions into the core ecosystem.

WPAI is known for innovative products such as CodeWP, AgentWP & WP.Chat.

WordPress

FlyingPress 4.16.0 adds new filter hooks to exclude JS files from delay and defer, and enhanced compatibility with SureCart. The new update also reduces CPU usage by 80% during cache preloading for high page count sites.

Tutor LMS 3.1.0 now allows you to process refunds automatically from the order history page for Stripe and PayPal. Students can also manage their email notification preferences from the front enddashboard.

SEOPress 8.4 integrates AI with the Site Audit feature, allowing you to generate missing alt text with AI. In addition, the TOC block is now compatible with Full Site Editing (FSE) and the reworked FAQ block now uses native blocks, specifically the Details block.

Fatal Error Notify Pro 1.13 integrates with EchoDash, the new event monitoring service (see The Pier #70).

WordPress dot com introduces new hardened DDoS protection with the Defensive Mode feature to further enhance the security of your site.

Tourfic 2.15.3 now integrates with Google Calendar, allowing you to sync hotel, apartment, tour and car booking details.

SureTriggers 1.0.67 adds new FluentSMTP integration.

E-Commerce

Mike from AnalyticsWP announces an upcoming integration with SureCart that will log orders as events in the analytics plugin for WordPress.

Cost of Goods Sold (COGS) coming soon to WooCommerce core.

Katie from Barn2 announces on X that they will be diversifying into selling Shopify apps in 2025. They will also continue to focus on our WordPress and WooCommerce plugins.

Flexi BOGO for WooCommerce 1.1.0 now allows you to set personalized discounts for specific users and specific user roles. Also, by the end of December, Tyche Softwares will be launching a new solution that will allow you to automatically archive old order data, reducing the load on your site and keeping your store performing at its best.
