It took longer than expected, but Ninja Forms has just proudly unveiled the new CiviCRM add-on for the WordPress form builder plugin. This is great news for former users of Caldera Forms, which has been discontinued by its developers.
New CiviCRM Add-On
CiviCRM is an open-source customer relationship management system (CRM) designed specifically for the needs of non-profit, non-governmental, and advocacy groups. As you probably already guessed, the new CiviCRM add-on allows you to easily connect your WordPress forms to the CRM. No API keys or developer credentials are required!
This way you can create new contacts directly from each form. In addition, you can also configure an action to capture additional field data that you need for this contact such as contact type / subtype, email addresses, phone numbers, IMs, websites, and addresses.
The integration also allows you to link contacts to activity types and statuses, subscribe contacts to groups, add and manage tags and notes, and even register contacts to event IDs!
Finally, contact actions can be set to check whether the user submitting the form already exists as a contact, e.g. by email address, name and email address, and name and address. If there is a match, the form will update the existing contact details instead of adding a new contact to the CRM.
If you have an existing Elite plan or still have the old Agency plan, you will have access to the CiviCRM add-on.
