Announced at Unite 2017, Polaris is Shopify’s very own design system that helps developers to create consistent interfaces a lot. For instance, it includes components aka interface elements that can easily be reused across the entire system. Also, you’ll find details about Shopify’s design principles, language, and visual elements. Now, Shopify has introduced Polaris Telescope, their first Sketch plugin.

Sketch is Shopify’s weapon of choice when it comes to design tools. Born out of the desire to speed up their workflow, Polaris Telescope for Sketch was created. It allows both developers and designers to search and view Polaris guidelines and code right from within Sketch.

Thus, the distracting, tedious, and time consuming task of switching back and forth between Polaris and Sketch is not necessary anymore.

The free Sketch plugin lets you:

  • Search for Polaris guidelines, best practices & components
  • Access code snippets and speed up your development workflow

Polaris Telescope is open-source and released under the MIT License. Check it out on the GitHub repository.
