GraphQL allows you to query data from an API whilst WPGraphQL allows you to integrate GraphQL into WordPress. By installing the latter along with The Events Calendar and the new QL Events extension, GraphQL gets access to the data of the calendar plugin.

They can then be queried and sent to a website frontend that is entirely independent of WordPress (“Headless CMS”). This means that you are no longer tied to a theme when it comes to displaying WordPress content. For example, this allows you to integrate your calendar data almost anywhere on the web.

The free QL Events extension is compatible with Events Calendar Pro and Event Tickets (Plus).
