Welcome South Korean Won (KRW) Transfers at TransferWise
Today, TransferWise have announced some really great news: Transfers to South Korean Won (KRW) are now available at TransferWise.

TransferWise is the first online money transfer service that allows you to send KRW directly to South Korean bank accounts. You’ll thus avoid an expensive currency conversion made by the banks on the other end.
In December 2020, TransferWise announced higher Korean Won transfer limits. You can now send up to 5,000,000 KRW per transfer to personal accounts in Korea. That’s five times more than what you could send before! If you want to send someone more than 950,000 KRW, TransferWise will ask you for their Korean local phone number. They’ll send them an SMS to complete verification before sending out your payment. You can send up to 50,000 USD (or equivalent) per year to an individual in South Korea.
