Automattic Acquires Prospress & WooCommerce Subscriptions
Automattic, the parent company of WooCommerce, just announced that they’ve acquired Prospress, developers of the ever popular WooCommerce Subscriptions extension.

Good news first: The acquisition will in no way impact the WooCommerce store or subscription of existing customers at all.
Prospress makes other solutions and extensions for WooCommerce, including Robot Ninja and AutomateWoo, a marketing automation tool for WooCommerce. The latter was acquired by Prospress only last year. These, and WooCommerce Subscriptions, will continue unchanged with no impact for their respective customers.
So what about the bad news then? Well, actually there are none. Brent Shepherd and his talented team will join Automattic. The same team will be developing and supporting the same codebase. Also, they’ll be working closely with WooCommerce to jointly make their recurring payments solution an even better product with a more unified subscriptions experience.
