BuddyBoss Releases New Email Digest Feature

Following the Universally integration earlier this month, Sakil from BuddyBoss introduced a new Email Digest feature that allows members of your community to choose how often they want to receive notifications from you.

Now that the new Email Digest feature is finally here, members can choose to receive all their notification emails in a single daily or weekly summary, rather than receiving one email per event.

You may have noticed this pattern before. A member joins and engages well. Then their inbox fills up as they receive an email for every mention, comment, reply and new follower.

What’s the result? They either unsubscribe from everything or stop opening emails. Either way, your community permanently loses its email channel to that member.

Email is how you bring people back. Once someone has opted out completely, they are gone from the loop. The Email Digest feature changes how often emails are sent, not whether someone is notified. In-app notifications, activity streams and web push notifications remain unaffected.

Check out the benefits:

• Members can open their Notification Preferences, find the ‘Email Digest’ control and select one of the following options: Off, Daily Digest or Weekly Digest. ‘Off’ means that emails will arrive individually, as before.
• This setting works in both the app and on the web.
• Ten notification types across three categories:
  • Social: Mentions, group mentions, comments on your post, replies to your comment, new activity from people you follow, new followers.
  • Group Updates: New group activity, group details changed.
  • Private Messages: Unread private messages, new group messages.

The Email Digest feature is available with the BuddyBoss Start plan and above.
