Classic Monks 2.0 Introduces Admin Columns Manager, OTP Login & Registration

We introduced Classic Monks on Ahoi.dev back in December last year. Joy has just announced the release of version 2.0 of the all-in-one core stack plugin for WordPress.

New Features

This is the biggest update the Classic Monks team have ever shipped, with 13 new features and 8 improvements. Let’s take a look at the highlights:

• Setup Wizard: There’s no need to dig through tabs to find what you need anymore. The new wizard guides you through discovering features and lets you apply presets in just a few clicks: Choose from Performance Focus, Hardened Security, AI Suite or Minimalist Admin. New sites can be installed and configured in about 10 minutes.
• Admin Columns Manager: Take full control of your WordPress list tables. Features include custom fields, ACF and ACPT support, taxonomy columns, frozen columns with horizontal scrolling, inline featured image editing and global search across all columns.
• Admin Menu & Toolbar Manager:Features include SVG icons, custom menu spacers, inline title editing, role-based visibility and custom toolbar items. You can hide menu items per role, restyle the entire navigation bar, and tidy up the toolbar without editing any code.
• OTP Login & Registration: Passwordless login, registration and password resets. Works with email, SMS (Twilio, Firebase or custom). There is no need for a separate two-factor authentication (2FA) plugin.
• Role Manager & Access Control: Create custom roles with granular capabilities and restrict specific roles to particular posts or pages. Managing client sites just got a lot easier.
• Image Watermark Manager: Automatic or bulk watermarks with AVIF support, live progress tracking, operation logs, and backup/restore. Protect your images without using a third-party service.

In other news, Classic Monks has introduced the following new features: Taxonomy Term Reordering, Admin List Taxonomy Filters, Customizable System Emails with Dynamic Merge Tags, Deep-Linked Tab Navigation, Alphabetical Menu Sorting, a Wider Admin Sidebar and Auto-Resizing Filename Exclusions. In addition, the admin dashboard has been fully redesigned. Plugin updates can now be triggered from the plugin entry point. Finally, the AI Alt Text Generator workflow has been streamlined.
