Being the latest alternative to mod_PHP, PHP-FPM is a modern PHP FastCGI process manager that comes along with many advantages and benefits in terms of speed and performance. Thanks to a low memory utilization, you will notice a performance improvement aka faster loading times by up to 300%.

Since the end of August 2016, PHP-FPM will automatically be installed for all new servers while mod_PHP has been retired by default. For existing servers, you can install it via the Cloudways console. Check out the Settings & Packages in the Packages section.
