FluentCart Introduces Built-In Subscription Engine

Following the introduction of the EU-ready tax engine last month, FluentCart has just unveiled a new subscription engine for the WordPress e-commerce plugin. Put simply, it’s subscriptions on autopilot.

New Subscription Engine

With version 1.6.0, your FluentCart store can manage subscriptions independently. You can choose whether the gateway or your store is in charge. When you switch to store-managed mode, FluentCart handles the entire renewal cycle. It creates a renewal order before the due date and emails your customer a payment link. They can then pay using whichever gateway you offer, even cash on delivery. Even cash on delivery. Or bank transfer. Any gateway works now. Automatic charging is still available with Stripe, PayPal, and other supported payment gateways.

If a charge fails, it doesn’t disappear. FluentCart retries at scheduled intervals, emails customers a link to update their card details and displays the full retry status in the admin panel. Failed renewals used to silently leak subscription revenue. Not anymore.

They have also shipped a full set of subscription emails, including those for renewal creation, payment reminders, upcoming charges, failure alerts and past-due notices. Your customers are kept informed at every stage.

Subscription management has also been given a serious upgrade. You can now pause, resume or skip a billing period, reactivate cancelled subscriptions, edit amounts, change schedules and adjust billing dates — all from the admin panel. Every subscription shows a badge indicating how it is billed. FluentCart Pro users get an extra bonus: subscriptions paid through Mollie, Authorize.net or Paddle can be upgraded automatically from manual to automatic billing.
