Gravity Forms Launches AbuseIPDB Add-On For Effective Spam Protection
Gravity Forms has just introduced a new AbuseIPDB add-on for its WordPress form builder plugin that can do more than just detect abusive IP addresses. It can also report confirmed spam back to AbuseIPDB, helping to protect websites across the global community. Together, let’s fight spam!
New AbuseIPDB Add-On

This new integration checks every form submission against AbuseIPDB’s global database of reported IP addresses. This ensures that any spam is caught and marked before it ever reaches your form entries list or CRM.
With a free AbuseIPDB account, you get 1,000 IP checks per day, which is enough for most sites. However, paid plans are available for higher volumes.
When someone submits a form, AbuseIPDB returns a confidence score for the IP address. You can then decide how strict your forms should be:
- IP Score Filtering: Set your threshold and any submission above it will be marked as spam.
- Country Blocklist: Block submissions from specific countries using country IP codes.
- Domain Blocklist: Block submissions from domains tied to known bad actors.
- Two-Way Reporting: Mark an entry as spam in WordPress and the IP address will be reported to AbuseIPDB as web spam.
The new AbuseIPDB add-on is included with all Gravity Forms licences, including Basic, Pro, Elite and Nonprofit.
