HeySummit Now Supports Custom Chat Widget Scripts

HeySummit just announced that they are now also supporting custom chat widget scripts. Also, they revealed their exciting plans for making their online summit platform multilingual.

Custom Chat Widget Scripts

Up to now, if you wanted to add a chat or helpdesk widget to your summit site, you would need to choose one of their pre-built integrations such as Intercom, Drift, or HelpShelf for instance. As a side note, HelpShelf just introduced an exciting new feature called Announcements. Powerful as that was, it meant that there were providers they weren’t yet catering for.

So from now on, you can add your own custom JavaScript for literally any chat or help desk provider. This opens up what you can now place on your HeySummit event site.

Multiple Languages

In order to become one of the best online summit platforms, HeySummit really needs to support multiple languages! To be precise, it needs to be translatable so that both summit hosts and attendees can use it in their native language. That’s why they came up with a two step process:

  • Stage 1: Making HeySummit’s attendee experience translatable (Timeline: Week of June 17 – Crowd-sourced language translation available)
  • Stage 2: Native multilingual support including investing in support team members and translation of how-to documents, and an option to chang the backend into different languages (Timeline: Minimum of one year)
