Recipe Card Blocks Pro: New Nutrition Facts Block with Ingredients API
Ina from Recipe Card Blocks Pro has just added a new nutrition facts block with ingredients API, calories per serving and an SEO score to the WordPress recipe plugin.
Nutrition Facts with Ingredients API

The Nutrition Facts Block in the Pro version connects directly to the Ingredients API, which also powers the Recipe Nutrition Analyzer (see The Pier #124). Simply enter your ingredients and the plugin will automatically calculate the calories, macronutrients, vitamins and minerals, using data sourced from US Department of Agriculture (USDA) databases.
Take a look at the benefits:
- Automatic values — no more spreadsheets or manual entry.
- FDA-style nutrition labels that the readers of your food blog (and Google) can trust.
- Works as a standalone feature or can be built into your recipe card.
Calories per Serving

In the recipe card editor, click the Calorie icon to instantly see the number of calories per serving. You can also auto-fill the full nutrition facts at the bottom of the card, ensuring that every recipe you publish has accurate, complete data without any extra effort.
SEO Score

The way we search is changing fast. By 2026, AI assistants such as ChatGPT and Google AI Overviews can answer recipe-related questions directly and cite sources with clean, complete structured data.
Recipe Card Blocks made significant enhancements to its structured data testing capabilities and introduced a built-in SEO Score feature that evaluates your recipe and provides specific recommendations for improvement:
- The built-in SEO Score grades each recipe and tells you exactly what you need to fix before publication.
- Improved structured data testing ensures that your recipes are validated correctly by Google, including ingredients, cooking times, nutritional information and author details.
- AI-ready JSON-LD formatting ensures that your recipes can be understood — and cited — by the AI tools that your readers now use.
Valid schema is no longer optional. It’s the key to earning rich snippets in Google and citations in AI answers, and it’s built into every recipe you create with Recipe Card Blocks.
