SEOPress 10 is a significant AI-first update: it introduces support for the WordPress Abilities API, an in-editor AI Assistant, SEOPress AI Credits, a sitemap health check, more intelligent image metadata controls and a Google Preferred Sources block.

SEOPress goes beyond traditional SEO tools and embraces AI-assisted workflows for WordPress. The headline features are the new Abilities API and MCP support, which enable compatible AI agents to connect to SEOPress and perform tasks such as conducting content analysis, generating AI-optimized titles and meta descriptions, creating image alt text, managing redirects, and much more besides.

Additionally, the new in-editor AI Assistant brings these capabilities directly into the block editor. This means you can request titles, outlines, translations, improvements to existing content, and quick SEO fixes without leaving the post you’re editing.

SEOPress is compatible with all the major AI providers, including OpenAI, Claude, Gemini, Mistral, and DeepSeek. However, SEOPress AI Credits is a new, ready-to-use option built right into the SEO plugin for WordPress.

The new, free Sitemap Health Check tool performs a full diagnostic analysis and provides a clear report on the health of your sitemap. SEOPress Pro takes this further by automatically running this check twice a day and alerting you by email or Slack the moment an error appears, ensuring that a broken sitemap is never overlooked.

SEOPress Pro can generate image metadata with AI the moment you upload an image. SEOPress 10 is even smarter, offering per-field toggles so you can decide exactly which fields to write.

Finally, Google now lets people choose their ‘Preferred Sources’: the sites they want to see more often in the Top Stories section of Google Search. With SEOPress 10, you can now add a new Google Preferred Sources block with a clean ‘Add as a preferred source’ button (or a matching shortcode) anywhere on your site.
