The Events Calendar 6.0
The long-awaited Events Calendar 6.0 represents the biggest release in the plugin’s 13-year history. The wait will soon be over!
The major update will introduce improved performance, better storage of event data and a new system for managing recurring events, including a new “Series” feature.
Event Series
Series is a new, powerful and fully customizable custom post type that gives you new, unprecedented ways to group, organise and present events in Events Calendar Pro. A Series can contain single or recurring events, with each event containing a different agenda, venue, featured image or host.
Each series also has its own landing page where users can see all the related events in one place.
Duplicate Events
Due to popular demand, the Pro version will finally come with a new Duplicate Event tool. No more copying and pasting of event data!
New LearnDash Integration
The new LearnDash integration allows you to sync your events with your online courses and automatically sign up students for courses after they register for events. By using the Pro version with Event Tickets Plus and WooCommerce, you can now also sell courses via events and tickets.
Now, if you also use the Virtual Events add-on, you can easily restrict access to your livestreams from Facebook and YouTube, as well as your Zoom, Webex or Google Meet meetings. This way, only enrolled students can see the stream in the calendar event.
WP Conference Schedule Acquisition
In other news, The Events Calendar team has announced the acquisition of WP Conference Schedule. As the name suggests, it‘s a free plugin that allows you to display conference, trade show, festival, company retreat and other event schedules on your WordPress site.
