New Features

Let’s dive right into the new features of Voxel 1.4, shall we?

  • Subscription Payment Mode:
The Subscription payment method allows you to create products that are sold on a recurring subscription basis. This is useful for marketplaces where sellers can sell their own subscriptions. You can also create content that is locked behind a subscription paywall when used with Voxel terms, specifically “user has bought product”.
  • Offline Payment Mode:
You can enable offline payments for individual product types. This will bypass the Stripe checkout and place the order directly. You can also automatically inform the customer how to complete the payment outside of your platform.
  • Tax Collection:
You can choose between the following two methods of tax collection. Manual allows you to set the tax rates manually, hence the name. Automatic uses Stripe Tax to automatically calculate and collect the tax/VAT. For each product type, you can define a tax code and a behaviour (tax inclusive or exclusive).
  • Stripe Connect:
The new Stripe Connect integration, which allows users to sign up as a seller and start selling any of your product types. They will be paid either instantly or periodically, while you can collect commissions. The integrated functionality can be enabled in Product Types > Settings > Marketplace. You can easily create fees for products sold through your marketplace platform and apply them conditionally based on role, plan, or user ID.
  • App Events:
Voxel has also added the following new order app events: New Order Placed by Customer, Order Cancelled by Customer, Order Approved by Vendor and Order Declined by Vendor.

Finally, Voxel gives you three options to handle checkout if the user isn’t logged in or registered, including Require account, Require email and confirmation code, or Require email only.
