WP Engine Acquires Delicious Brains Plugins

Almost exactly a year ago, we posted about Delicious Brains acquiring the popular Advanced Custom Fields (ACF) plugin. In the next round of WordPress consolidation, WP Engine has just acquired five Delicious Brains plugins which are among the most popular developer-centric tools for WordPress.

I’ve had the pleasure of meeting with Jason, Heather Brunner, and other members of WP Engine’s team recently and am very impressed with the individuals as well as the company they’ve built together. It was important to me that our plugins and plugin team go to a great company, and I know we have that in WP Engine.

Advanced Custom Fields (ACF), WP Migrate, WP Offload Media, WP Offload SES, and Better Search Replace are now part of the WP Engine family. In addition to managed WordPress hosting, WP Engine also offers/owns Flywheel, Local, and Genesis, as well as Atlas, a headless WordPress hosting platform.

Let’s take a look at the acquired plugins:

• Developers can use WordPress to create full CMS solutions with Advanced Custom Fields.
• WP Migrate makes moving databases, media, themes and plugins between WordPress installations quick, easy and straightforward.
• Automatically copy media fields to cloud storage, e.g. Amazon S3, DigitalOcean Spaces or Google Cloud Storage and much more with WP Offload Media.
• Better Search Replace is a time-saving, lightweight migration solution that performs a database search/replace when migrating a WordPress site to ensure everything is working correctly.
• WP Offload SES configures your WordPress site to send all emails through a low-cost Amazon SES account, increasing inbox deliverability and avoiding the restrictions imposed by many email providers.

After the acquisition, WP Engine will continue to honour the ACF Pro lifetime licences. Currently, there are also no plans to change the subscription prices for any of the plugins in the near future.
