WP Engine Announces Better Entry-Level Plans

WP Engine just announced a few changes to their entry-level plans starting January 22, 2020. These changes will either reduce cost or add value to your managed WordPress hosting packages.

Better Entry-Level Plans

What exactly will change next week? Let’s find out:

  • Startup Plan: Price reduces from $35/mo to $30/mo (or $350/yr to $300/yr for annual plans). Max install limit of 25. The Multisite add-on will no longer be available after January 22. Existing customers with Multisite enabled will maintain the entitlement along with support.
  • Growth Plan: Price remains the same at $115/mo with an increased amount of included sites. The Growth plan will now include 10 sites versus 5. Max install limit of 40.
  • Scale Plan: Price remains the same at $290/mo with an increased amount of included sites. The Scale plan will now include 30 sites versus 15. Max install limit of 40.

On January 22, all existing customers with Startup plans will be moved to the new price on the monthly or annual billing renewal date. New customers will receive the new pricing plans as described above. In other news, they announced that TLS 1.3, the latest in Transport Layer Security protocol, is now available to the majority of WP Engine customers at no extra cost.

Starting March 4, new purchases of their subscription plans and add-ons will be available in the following currencies: USD, GBP, EUR, CAD, and AUD. For existing accounts, these currencies will be enabled in the coming months. As a next step, they developed the capability to apply coupons for purchases in currency options besides USD.

PS: Flywheel has also made some changes to their pricing plans including the return of the Tiny plan.
