BigCommerce recently announced some good news for their top-notch SaaS ecommerce platform including a growth equity investment, AMP, and automated image optimization.
Growth Equity Investment
Last month, BigCommerce announced that Goldman Sachs has led a $64 million growth equity investment, with backing from their current investors including General Catalyst, GGV Capital, and Tenaya Capital.
AMP
BigCommerce introduced the first native ecommerce integration for accelerated mobile pages aka AMP. This integration simplifies category and product detail pages improving both mobile site speed and click-through rates for online merchants.
Automated Image Optimization
Speaking of site speed: The Akamai Image Manager is now available for all BigCommerce merchants. It is an automated image optimizer to help your online store load faster no matter the browser’s origin. This feature is available for free for BigCommerce customer.
